The Certificate in Community Volunteering is a new qualification that is available to anyone aged over 16 who is currently volunteering or is looking for a voluntary placement. It is a level 2 qualification, equivalent to 2 grade B GCSE's.

Committed volunteers can complete the qualification to gain accreditation for their work. The course focuses on good practice in volunteering and can be used as a stepping stone to other courses, further volunteering or employment.

The course is a distance learning course and can be completed at any pace, as long as you have access to the internet.

The course is FREE to anyone aged between 16-18, claiming benefits or currently unwaged.

This course is ran by the university of Derby and is available online so you can carry on volunteering while you study. The aim of the course is to give you a better understanding of the voluntary sector and how it works.
